1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem in any given year. It can happen to anyone at any time of life.

Mental health is something that affects us all. Statistics show that a quarter of us will experience a mental health problem within any given year and many people will have thoughts of self harm and suicide.

But speaking to others about how you are feeling, and asking for help can be the start of your recovery.

Talk to your friends and family, to your GP or other professionals, or call us to find what support is availible in your area. A range of information about Help and Resources is also availible on this website

    The Samaritans are there for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You don't have to be suicidal. You can talk to them about whatever's getting to you, in your own way, and off the record.
